Mile End Golf Club - Oswestry

Distance from Hotel - 20 miles, No of Courses 1 & 12 Bay Driving Range

Par 71 SSS 69

Mile End is run as a family business and since opening in 1996, the gently undulating course has rapidly become an extremely popular venue for golfers of all abilities. The modern club house is regularly enjoyed by members and visitors who also make full use of the  floodlit driving range, putting green and other practice facilities.

Oswestry Golf Club

Par 70 SSS 69

Distance from Hotel - 22 miles, No of Courses 1

Oswestry golf course is easily found, located as it is just off the A5. A parkland course, it was designed by legendary golf course designer and landscape architect James Braid, responsible for some of the most prestigious courses and challenging holes in the country. It is unsurprising, therefore, that Oswestry is notorious for being demanding, irrespective of the golfer's ability or stature.

Like so many of the courses in the county, it is relatively small - its eighteen holes measure only 6038 yards off the white tees - but this par 70 is not to be underestimated. A good accurate drive is essential in order to negotiate the difficult fairways, and well-considered club choice is vital also to reach the green without too much difficulty.

Hill Valley Golf & Country Club

Distance from Hotel - 1 mile, No of Courses 2.

The Emerald Course (Par 73, SSS 72)

Winding its way through rolling, wooded countryside of immense beauty The Emerald Course derives its name from the abundance of mature greenery which presents an unbelievable aura of majesty.

The course at 6500 yards from the Championship tees can be set up and adapted for even the most modest competitors, ensuring all round thorough enjoyment for all. Undulating fairways, natural water hazards and bunkers carefully and strategically placed makes this Course a true test for Golfers of all abilities.

The Sapphire Course (Par 66, SSS 64)

Shorter but no less demanding the Sapphire course at 5700 yards presents quite a different test for Golfers of any standard.

With an abundance of water, careful and skilful club selection and equally competent execution are paramount and make this course the ultimate challenge for exponents of the short game. Sharpen up this, the most important aspect of playing, and you will undoubtedly reap the benefits which will show in the improvement of you

NINE HOLE

The Brow Golf Club- Ellesmere

Distance from the Hotel - 13.5 miles, No of courses 1

Alan Strange drew up the course on farmland owned by his family since the 1960s, and his experience as a competitive golfer has ensured that the testing 4220 yard layout, with its small, but strategically situated greens asks real questions of any player’s short game.

Built on 35 acres which rise and fall through stunningly beautiful countryside, the course optimises the scenic nature of the site and the par 66 course plays longer than the card suggests.
